TRACE32® tools support includes simultaneous debugging of the processor cores as well as non-intrusive processor trace capture.

The XuanTie C950, a high-performance 64-bit RISC-V processor core designed for demanding workloads such as edge AI, cloud computing, and high-performance systems, features a superscalar, out-of-order microarchitecture with up to 8 cores per cluster and clock speeds reaching 3.2 GHz. With a performance score exceeding 22 SPECint2006 per GHz (around 70 at full speed), it represents the world’s highest-performance RISC-V computing flagship processor to date.

Lauterbach’s TRACE32® supports the entire Product Life Cycle (PLC) from Pre-Silicon to Prototyping & Testing to In-Field analysis including cloud-based debugging and profiling. It provides the broadest support for emulators, simulators and virtual targets in the industry as well as hardware-accelerated debugging and real-time tracing of all the RISC-V cores implemented in XuanTie C950 via parallel off-chip trace and serial high-speed trace via HSSTP.

TRACE32® tools consist of the universal PowerView debugging and tracing software as well as debug and trace accelerator modules. While Lauterbach’s intelligent PowerDebug modules provide the highest available download speeds and smallest response times for efficient debugging and test automation, PowerTrace real-time trace modules provide full insights of what the processors and other cores of the system are doing without impacting its real-time performance in any way. Trace analysis including code coverage measurements can support bringing embedded designs to market faster, safer, and more reliably than ever.

“Alibaba’s XuanTie C950 sets a new benchmark for RISC-V computing power, making this chip ideally suited for demanding applications such as edge AI”, comments Dr. Markus Herdin, Director Marketing at Lauterbach GmbH. “With the latest support of TRACE32®, we enable Alibaba’s high-end customers to develop their applications with our market leading debug and trace tools right from the start.”

Dr. Chunqiang Li, Vice President of RISC-V at Alibaba DAMO Academy and Head of Software Ecosystem, said: “XuanTie C950 represents an important breakthrough for us in the field of high-performance computing based on RISC-V, further validating the application potential of the RISC-V architecture in high-computing-power scenarios such as servers and AI.
